On my mac which is running on 10.13.2 that is high sierra but when I open the office it try to verify the OpenOffice and fails and says cannot be. I thought I would give Microsoft support a chance with this one, but. Anyway I am getting a 'certificate not valid' on my mobile devices when trying to connect to our Office 365 Exchange. Exchange Online. Whatever one wants to call it! When I run the autodiscover test, I get the following (mydomain.com is a fake, obviously): Host name mydomain.com doesn't match any name found on the server certificate CN=sni.dreamhost.com, O=DreamHost, C=US. We host that domain at Dreamhost. I am assuming that I need a SSL certificate somewhere, but am a little unsure as to where, exactly. Has anyone ever been through this before? OK, after setting up secure hosting at my host, and purchasing an SSL certificate, I get past that part, and now get this: A Web exception occurred because an HTTP 404 - NotFound response was received from Unknown. HTTP Response Headers: Keep-Alive: timeout=2, max=100 Connection: Keep-Alive Content-Length: 346Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 Date: Fri, 05 Jun 2015 16:45:57 GMT Server: Apache Elapsed Time: 169 ms. So, I think that is OK. It works on the iPhone now. So, I think that's the issue. My hosting domain needed SSL. Wildcard SSL certificate isn’t ideal solution in your case, because of it cannot secure second level sub-domains as you mentioned Wildcard SSL certificate can secure only sub-domains over the root domains. If you want to secure second level sub-domains, you need to request wildcard SSL for *.mail.yourdomain.com. So as per this scenario, you require two wildcard SSL certificate to fulfill your needs, which is not ideal solution. UCC SSL certificate is the best solution for exchange server environment. It will secure your multiple domains, sub-domains and second-level sub domains. If you want to install UCC certificate on additional multiple servers then you must have to install UCC certificate on main server. After that, you will have to export a private key of a certificate from the main server and import that private key on additional servers. Finally, install UCC certificate on those additional servers.. Mac player for movies. It would be very helpful to see a screenshot or your current DNS settings, but from what we can gather, Office 365 should not be trying to connect directly to DreamHost. Please check the following links for further reference to be sure your domain is set up correctly: However if you prefer not to put too much info publicly here on Spiceworks, perhaps you can reach out to our directly with your settings. While we don't normally provide specific support for Office 365, perhaps with more detail we can help find the setting throwing it off. I hope that helps a bit! Ellice: Thanks for the response. I did reach out to DreamHost support. ![]() Their answer is below. I read that in these instances, usually MS blames the hosting company, the hosting company blames MS, and the answer is in between, which is why I posted here.:) This is what support said: What is it exactly that you are using Office 365 on your domain (which component)? It sounds like whatever you are using, does not like SNI. The above certificate is tied to the Apache service you are on. Since IPv4 is becoming scarce, technology is advancing where you do not need a unique IP for secure hosting by using SNI. Since at least one domain on the Apache service is using secure hosting without a unique IP, the SNI certificate became active. Only applications that are outdated, complain about SNI. The only way to fix this would be for you to add secure hosting (if you have not already), buy and add a SSL certificate, and add a unique IP. If there is anything else you need help with, please let me know!
